Reddit 'AskHistorians' should be a place where people get accurate answers to questions about history. However, when the hypothetical question, 'If there are any experts on volcano deification, could they tell me whether or not these Biblical verses fit with volcano worship?' the first response seemed to come from not a historian with any sense but from a complete hothead called 'brigantus' acting on emotion and prejudice with this laughable knee-jerk reaction...

Bible Trumpet Sound

Sounds from volcanic processes (also known as volcano acoustics) that occur before an eruption primarily come from the pressurization of magma bodies in cracks and conduits, bubble explosions, and the resonating superheated hydrothermal systems near the surface of a volcano. As magma ascends, moving toward the surface, gases build pressure within the magma, forcing cracks and dikes to open and expand through the overlying rocks. English Defence League
Unfortunately, the English Defence League has banned me from their forums for, I can only assume, risking an internal conflict between its theists and atheists.
All members of the EDL have probably spent years wracking their brains trying to think of a solution to the creeping Islamisation of England. They are probably all in a state of partial rage at the situation the western world has been forced into against its wishes. I know this because I too have felt the same.
I handed them the perfect solution on a plate. It was perfect because it was a peaceful solution, it was a cheap solution, it was a fair solution for all concerned, it could have been a quick solution and, most importantly of all, it was based on the truth.
Unfortunately, it was obviously not good enough for the organisation that claims to want to defend England.
To the atheists of the EDL. Thank the theists of the EDL for preventing you from making use of the silver bullet I offered you all. In time, some of you will remember when a woman said it was better to sacrifice Yahweh, the imaginery desert nomad genocidal volcano deity who apparently liked the smell of burning flesh, in order to save England and you will realise how stupid and cowardly the EDL was for not doing it.

Judges 1
Judges 1.....an honest appraisal.
It seems Christians are very good at sniffing out evil wherever they find it unless it's right under their noses in their Bible, or should I say in the Hebrew Bible? To them, genocide is not genocide if it is written in the Old Testament. It suddenly becomes 'necessary divine justice'. Apparently, some towns were so 'evil' and did such 'evil' things that it was necessary to completely.....um......clean the land. Nothing to do with just wanting to grab the land off its occupants then?
Yes, that does sound just like what the Nazis would say to justify their cleansing of Jews. But Christians don't realise they are condoning Nazi-like genocide. They have been so effectively warped they think their Lord did the right thing in even killing babies.
I debated with a Christian woman who claimed that killing babies of enemies using 'divine justice' (genocide) was not a big issue as those babies would be taken from an evil situation and put into heaven, an apparently non-evil situation. Well, the Nazis believed as everything was an illusion anyway, killing millions of people was just like switching out a light....no more consequential than that.
So, let's take a closer look at Judges 1 and see how much 'Jesus' we can find in it.
1.After the death of Joshua, the Israelites asked the Lord, “Who of us is to go up first to fight against the Canaanites?” 2 The Lord answered, “Judah shall go up; I have given the land into their hands.”
Given 'than land'. That is a bit of a giveaway. Land grab.
4. When Judah attacked, the Lord gave the Canaanites and Perizzites into their hands, and they struck down ten thousand men at Bezek.
Nice...choppy choppy.
6. Adoni-Bezek fled, but they chased him and caught him, and cut off his thumbs and big toes.
How very Talibanesque.
8. The men of Judah attacked Jerusalem also and took it. They put the city to the sword and set it on fire.
They burnt Jerusalem, the 'holy' city? Nothing changes.
9 After that, Judah went down to fight against the Canaanites living in the hill country, the Negev and the western foothills. 10 They advanced against the Canaanites living in Hebron (formerly called Kiriath Arba) and defeated Sheshai, Ahiman and Talmai. 11 From there they advanced against the people living in Debir (formerly called Kiriath Sepher).
'Advanced against'......meaning....went in to kill and plunder.
12 And Caleb said, “I will give my daughter Aksah in marriage to the man who attacks and captures Kiriath Sepher.” 13 Othniel son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother, took it; so Caleb gave his daughter Aksah to him in marriage.
Forced marriage.
17 Then the men of Judah went with the Simeonites their fellow Israelites and attacked the Canaanites living in Zephath, and they totally destroyed[c] the city. Therefore it was called Hormah.[d] 18 Judah also took[e] Gaza, Ashkelon and Ekron—each city with its territory.
More genocide and ethnic cleansing.
22 Now the tribes of Joseph attacked Bethel, and the Lord was with them. 23 When they sent men to spy out Bethel (formerly called Luz), 24 the spies saw a man coming out of the city and they said to him, “Show us how to get into the city and we will see that you are treated well.” 25 So he showed them, and they put the city to the sword but spared the man and his whole family.
Trickery, spying, genocide.
27 But Manasseh did not drive out the people of Beth Shan or Taanach or Dor or Ibleam or Megiddo and their surrounding settlements, for the Canaanites were determined to live in that land. 28 When Israel became strong, they pressed the Canaanites into forced labor but never drove them out completely.
Why should they give up their land? Wanted to live in their land! Of course they wanted to live in THEIR land! Poor buggers ended up as slaves in their own land.
30 Neither did Zebulun drive out the Canaanites living in Kitron or Nahalol, so these Canaanites lived among them, but Zebulun did subject them to forced labor.
More enslavement of the occupants of Canaan.
33 and those living in Beth Shemesh and Beth Anath became forced laborers for them.

35 And the Amorites were determined also to hold out in Mount Heres, Aijalon and Shaalbim, but when the power of the tribes of Joseph increased, they too were pressed into forced labor.

God was a volcano
This video is a good intruduction into the theory the Abrahamic god of Judaism, Islam and Christianity, was an imaginery volcano god.
Mount Sinai was a volcano in Arabia, probably NW Saudi, the burning bush was a flaming gas leak, the ten plagues of Egypt were caused by the fallout of the Santorini eruption, brimstone was sulfur from volcanoes, the lake of fire was a lava filled crater........
God/Allah was an imaginery volcano god. That means there is no god and no allah. So, if you have arrived here after seeing a comment on an anti-Islam blog then maybe you should realise the significance of this revelation and start bloody well putting your efforts into something that could actually achieve results.....bring an end to Islam. If that is really what you want of course. I am fairly sure some blog owners will not want that as they earn money from this problem and they also have egos that would be hurt by this massive change in approach. They would suddenly have to re-assess their attitude to a few things and change their speech, and some will not want to do that.
Why not join the small but active number of people who are commited to this theory and aim to destroy Islam in a more intellectual way....no fighting, no attacking....just educating them on the origins of their religion. Are you prepared to pay the high price for the freedom from Islam? Are you prepared to give up hope of god...to surrender him to the funeral pyre of history's gods along with allah? How much do you want to liberate Europe from the grip of Islam?

The name "Fuji" most likely derives from an Ainu word meaning "fire" or "deity of fire". The Japanese believed that the god was very powerful, so it needed to be placated. A shrine was built at the foot of the volcano in AD 806 in order to keep the mountain from erupting.

The Klamath Indians of the pacific Northwest tell a legend about a fight between two chiefs. Llao was the chief of the Below World and was at Mount Mazama in Oregon. Skell was the chief of the Above World and stood at the summit of Mount Shasta in northern California. The two mountains are only a hundred miles apart. As darkness covered the land the two chiefs threw rocks and flames at each other. Llao, injured, fell back inside of Mount Mazama and was never seen again.

Mount Fako is believed to be guarded from erupting again by a man-eater god named Epasa Moto. Efasa-Moto is the folkloric god of the Fako Mountain.

Taranaki threw himself at Ruapehu, but Ruapehu sprayed scalding water from his lake one Taranaki. In retaliation, Taranaki threw stones at Ruapehu destroying his once beautiful summit. Ruapehu was able to swallow the fragments of his cone, melt them, and spit them back at Taranaki. Taranaki retreated up the coast to where he lives now, plotting his revenge (Vitaliano, 1973).
The Maoris also have a legend involving two extinct volcanic cones made of basalt named Kakepuku and Kawa. Kakepuku loved Kawa but had to fight several opponents in order to win her over.

The mountains turned to volcanoes as the hearts of the men with in each mountain still burnt with fiery love for the woman. It is the hearts of these original men that created the mountains, which shaped the peninsula into what it is today.
The creation of Mt. Fuji is itself a matter of legend in Japan - the tale goes that the mountain was born in a single day.
The Modoc Indians of northern California have lived in the area a long time and have seen the volcano erupt. Their oral tradition explains how the volcano formed. The Chief of the Sky Spirits was cold in the Above World. One day he used a rotating stone to drill a hole in the sky. Once the hole was finished he pushed in snow and ice. The snow and ice piled up and almost reached the sky. Then, the Chief of the Sky Spirits stepped down to the Earth. He created the trees, rivers, animals, fish, and birds.

NOTE TO GOD.
Dear God,
I know you are wrathful because you are spewing out smoke from your nostrils and pouring out volcanic lava down your mountain like rivers of fire. It is coming from before you in every direction, so you must be very very mad. We're not sure what we have done wrong so we shall get very paranoid wracking our brains to try to work it out. You sure do spot absolutely everything bad we do don't you? Nothing escapes your notice.
We have killed lots of animals in a very precise way, as we are sure you have seen, but you are still angry. You have shot out fire and brimstone at us, which hurt a lot. What did we do to upset you? We must make our rules more strict and enforce them with an iron fist in order to appease you. We must even go to the lengths of stoning young women who dare kiss their boyfriends. You seem so easy to upset that we feel every single indiscetion must be stamped, or stoned, out. Rest assured, we are doing everything we can to ensure your complete satisfaction.
We were wondering when it might be possible to finally meet you. We know you are in residence by the fire and smoke on the top of the mountain and the rivers of lava fire pouring down the mountain. Why can you not just stick your head out to say hello? You remind us of the wizard in The Wizard of Oz. Can't you metaphorically peep from around the curtain? We just want to say hello to our god. It is a mystery.
I know you were the god that brought us out of Egypt because all the signs are the same....darkness, smoke, clouds, hail (not normal hail but volcano hail), lightning, loud noises, etc. We were told what you looked like when you resided inside Santorini. Gosh....what a show you put on! You sure are the god of gods. Never in our lives have we heard of such an awesome god. You gave us the opportunity to get out of Egypt with lots of gold and treasure so we are eternally grateful to you. We saw your ensign as we travelled: your column of smoke during the day and the column of fire at night. We were so excited to see it as it matched what we had heard about your Santorini show. Wow! The amazing god that destroyed the Egyptians had gone ahead of us to lead us to him! We feel honoured, special even. Yes! We are so special and so grateful to you, our Lord, for choosing us. We shall never ever forget how you helped us steal all that gold and leggit into the desert.

Why is there so much FIRE IN THE BIBLE?
Why was there so much FIRE IN THE BIBLE?
That is a question all Christians should be asking themselves and their vicars and the fact they are not doing that and have not been doing that is possibly the most amazing phenomena in the history of mankind. The human mind is a truly amazing thing; what it can make a person do is staggering.
The reason why there is so much fire in the Bible is because Yahweh, the god of the ancient Hebrews, was a nature god....specifically a volcano god. In other words, there is no god but the Hebrews believed there was one sitting on the top of an erupting volcano. I will keep adding verses later on. Please spread the good news that none of us will suffer any fiery wrath. Kids will love you for it.

God Was a Volcano???
Spoof commentary of imaginery third party with multiple personality disorder....
Smoking mountain? Hmmm....tough one that one. What the hell could a smoking mountain be? Thunders and lightning....yes, both common during eruptions. Trumpet blast? Ok, so volcanoes make trumpet sounds due to the magma shooting up the chamber just like blowing into a horn.....but I can't possibly admit to not being in the know. What?!! Are you crazy? I need more evidence.
'Thick darkness'. Getting closer....getting hotter!!! I need more evidence though as I'm living in a bubble that suits my lifestyle and my wardrobe of clothes would be good for nothing if my bubble burst.
Gross! Choppy choppy! Ok, so volcano cults set up altars at the base of volcanoes and proceed to slit lots of throats and do lots of blood letting. Isn't the wine in church a symbol of blood? Aren't the candles symbols of fire on the altar? It's just too gross to acknowledge. I need more evidence!
Thunder...check. Lightning.....check...thick cloud on top of mountain....double check. Trumpet sound......check. Frightening.....check. But I don't WANT to believe it! I'd be ordinary like everyone else if I did. I haven't got a clue how to be ordinary. Do they do classes? I need more evidence!!!
Smoke everywhere! Oh Lord, what kind of god lives in a mountain covered in smoke??! The smoke of a furnace??? Like loads of thick smoke going up in a 'column of smoke'? Ok, that column of smoke is remeniscent of the column of smoke that the Hebrews walked towards when they left Egypt. That column looked like fire at night and smoke by day. Hmmmm...... Ok, I'd be a damn fool to deny it but I'd rather be a fool than accept it because if I accept it I will have to do something about it and I'm sooo scared!!! I've not changed my mind on anything since I decided I did in fact like sprouts. I need more evidence!
Oh holy smoke!!! God's glory is fire??? The glory of god is lava coming out of a volcano? Are you telling me that all I need to enjoy a bit of divine glory is to gaze at the one bar fire in my bathroom with the lights off? Hey, you know what, I've done that and it does make you go kinda glazed and wooey. I'm buying a THREE bar fire today and will have a triple glory fest! Glory glory glory!!! But I still don't buy this volcano god idea because I like to be the first to come up with great ideas and therefore I'm going to scupper your plans and enjoy your suffering. Ha! Why were rocks first seen as something to rely upon?

Images of Mount Sinai
MOUNT SINAI
This image of Mount Sinai, produced by Oh My Volcano, is an honest and accurate representation of the real Biblical Mount Sinai, wherever it may be. It most certainly is not the one hoards of tourists visit in the Sinai Peninsular, the Peninsular being named after the Biblical mount and not the other way around.
Mount Sinai was a volcano, a fact that is very clear to see on reading Exodus. It is blatant imaginery volcano god worship, which of course means the Abrahamic religions are built on very shaky ground.

God was a volcano

I apologize if this is an unwanted email, but I have to say I think you are right on the money! I have been saying and theorizing for years about Volcano worship being the underlying meaning behind the Abrahamic Religions. I study (as an amateur) anthropology, archaeology,ancient religions, and paleoclimatology. Now I don't have any college courses or degrees to back my claims so often I am dismissed as blasphemous or just talking out my rear end. I am an Atheist.

I was raised Evangelical Christian and was forced to sit through a Preacher's rhetoric every Sunday. My ex stepmother would often not allow me to go to the children's services, and dictated that I needed to learn the words of God. I would often read this fool's interpretations and rhetoric while imagining the truth by putting myself in the Biblical times and seeing the way they lived through their own superstitions. The Bible I had contained maps of ancient Judah and Israel in their respective times. These became vital to me in keeping my attention so it appeared I was being a good little Christian boy. So at 7 years old I discovered that "God" was a metaphor for global events and catastrophies. Then at 14 my father divorced the fanatic and allowed me to pursue my own beliefs as long as I promised to find my own truth and do it with respect to other religions. So I figured "why not?" and started looking nto other religions and their creation myths.

Well...the only logical place for me to go next was temples. Then I started noticing pyramid temples were always near some sort of volcanic activity. While Egypt itself wasn't near any major volcanic activity, the Thera eruption of 1628 BC would have had a major impact upon all surrounding regions. It is believed to be the major factor in the fall of the Minoan Empire which in turn allowed the rise of the Mycenean Empire. Things started adding up. Then the Bible verses and research I was doing began to collide too often to be ignored. I started looking at maps and media devices such as Google Earth to help give me an extended, geological view of the religious world. Every single religion is and was founded in or near some sort of tectonic or volcanic region! I had found my truth!

But my truth, as stated above, was dismissed and laughed at. I went to churches and temples to ask my questions and was met by clergy who insisted I was tainted and seduced by the Devil and attempted to save me from myself. Then I stumble onto your page. Absolutely amazing to see you have the exact same ideas and theories I do. I have been attempting to sit down and write a book to teach others who might be as awakened or open-minded the things I have learned myself. As you may imagine, it hasn't gotten past opening my Microsoft Word and staring at a blank screen for 15 minutes before giving up due to lack of encouragement. You may just have renewed my vigor.

I have ran into the Richard Dawkins before and you are correct....they will only hear what fits into what they think is right and if you approach them from outside their box, they shut their box and deny access so that they don't have to think anymore than is necessary to maintain their authority on the subject.

Again, I'm completely an amateur. However, I think that amateur has nothing to do with finding one's own truths and seeing something that is right there in front of you in so many words and verses. I don't seek to unseat or disprove any religion. I have a great deal of admiration and respect for those with the faith I can no longer hold true to. I only intend to reach out to a community or population that can see outside the box and at least entertain the idea instead of a complete dismissal.
